I am delighted to announce the launch of the 'Moments in Probation' series. A different Moment will appear every day in 2007 and many probation people, past and present, are already committed to writing a moment. To access, go to www.cjp.org.uk and you will see the daily moment there and, as long as you are registered to the Portal, (it is free and instant) you can search through all the ones you may have missed.

This series will grow into a reflective testimony to the rich diversity of the probation ideal reminding us at this difficult juncture in the history of community services for offenders that there is a rich past which we should not lose and, more positively, we can learn from. Also they are simply a good read anyway, short, punchy and thought provoking!!!

We want this to be an inclusive project. Were you involved in an innovative project in the past? What figure or book influenced you? What was it like to work in a rural setting or how did a particular Act impact on you? If you want to write one now is the time to get in touch and offer a topic. There are 365 moments to find!!! I would be delighted to receive offers to write a Moment and you can find out more in the guidelines below. To see examples, look at the Moments already available on www.cjp.org.uk.

I hope you enjoy these Moments as they appear each day in 2007 - and don't forget, you can view the daily Moment by following this link to the Community Justice Portal.

If you are not already a registered user of the portal, you will need to register first. Simply click on register and submit your details - registration is free, quick and simple and gives you access to a wealth of information about the community justice sector.
