Throughout 2007, the Hallam Centre for Community Justice will be running a series of events celebrating a Century of Probation. See our Calendar of Events page for timings of these and associated events. This page will list any events taking place in 2007 on this theme. Here are just some of the activities we are planning throughout 2007:
- A major International Conference in September 2007 with high profile speakers, workshops, theatre presentations a video box etc.
- Moments in Probation History - each day in 2007, a commentary factsheet, written by a leading figure in the world of probation, will appear on the Portal focused on aspects of probation practice, policy and legislation, research and training.
- Roger Hill, Director of the National Probation Directorate will give this year’s Annual Community Justice Portal lecture on 17th May 2007.
- An E-Oral History of the service - using online technology to create a collective memory of the service.
- The creation of a Probation Wikipaedia to build a collective knowledge base of probation.
- Publications including a special edition of the British Journal of Community Justice
